Technology and Higher Education- An Interesting Match

Well, this is my first post to my new blog. A few years ago I had worked on some blogs and got some good value out of the process. Then life happened. I switched states, jobs, somewhat of a career switch as well, and had a baby.

So, why start again?

Well, I currently am the Instructional Facilitator for Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I really enjoy what I do and I feel so luck for getting my "dream" job at such a young age. I get to work with faculty to bring in technology (such a broad term) to their classrooms and curriculum. So for the past year I have been diving into the world of technological possibilities in education, and it has been exciting.

Now to the point...

I love what I do, but I am one of few, locally, that enjoying hearing about it. My wife has been very understanding in hearing me rant about the coolest new site I found for collaboration, just for example. But I know there are many people like myself out there, just not right here physically. So I want to share my experiences with you.

I do use Twitter. Sometimes I am even on Facebook. But they don't seem to fit with my mindset of what I want to do. I even debated doing Google+ posts and make my Google+ page my blog. Maybe that is where I will go in the future with this. But for now, no.

So, what can you expect as a reader of this blog?

Well, hopefully you will find some interesting tidbits of information, useful resources, websites, ideas, and concepts. I might even alert you to something that won't work, or at least didn't work for me. So stayed tuned and enjoy!
